Freight Shipments
Freight Shipments
For large or heavy items, delivery must be handled by a freight carrier.
When your order arrives at the nearest freight terminal, the carrier may contact you to schedule delivery (for residential customers only). To ensure an appointment is set, please include any delivery instructions in the Comments box during checkout.
If you do not respond promptly to the carrier's call to arrange delivery, you may incur storage fees.
Notify the carrier if there are any delivery restrictions at your location (e.g., narrow roads or difficult turnarounds). This helps them bring an appropriately sized truck. If unloading exceeds the time allotted based on your order’s weight, you might face additional detention charges. Therefore, sharing any concerns beforehand is advisable.
Freight shipments are dropped off at the curb. The carrier is not responsible for unloading items unless Liftgate Service was added to your order. Likewise, drivers are not obligated to bring goods inside. Arrange for assistance at the delivery time or add Liftgate Service and/or Inside Delivery if needed.
Additional Delivery Services
Liftgate Unloading Service and Inside-Garage Delivery Service are usually available for an extra fee. If you want these services, please notify us as soon as possible.
Liftgate Unloading Service Details
Liftgate service involves moving items from the truck bed to the curb. Not all delivery trucks have liftgates, and drivers may choose not to use the liftgate if items are too heavy or large to handle safely. If the driver decides the liftgate is necessary for safety reasons, you will be charged for the service. If you request liftgate service but it is unavailable due to lack of equipment or safety concerns, the cost will be refunded. However, you are still responsible for unloading the goods.
Inside-Garage Delivery Service Details
The driver will determine if inside-garage delivery is possible upon arrival. There must be a clear path to your garage, and the driveway should be paved and not excessively long or steep.
Inspect Your Items Before Signing
Before the driver leaves, examine the outer packaging for any damage like dings, dents, or holes. Open the box and check the product for any issues. Keep all original packing materials in case hidden damage requires a return.
As with any delivery, carefully inspect all packages for damage before signing for them. If you notice any damage, please write "'uninspected', possible damage" near your name when signing to facilitate the filing of a claim on your behalf. Otherwise, you will need to initiate the claim process yourself.
If you discover hidden damage later, take photos (ideally before removing the items from the box) and contact us for assistance. If items or parts are missing, reach out to us immediately. Avoid refusing delivery for any other reason as it may impact your eligibility for product return credit and free re-delivery.
